An Unstoppable Flow (Pun Intended).

What a month!

So, despite living oh-so-far away from Southampton nowadays (sniff, sniff), I'm pleased to say that the campaign is still out in full-force. Our Facebook page is now just shy of 500 likes, and my group of volunteers is growing steadily each week.

As for some of our biggest news and updates, take a look at these:

1. Southampton Bloggers' Brunch donated 40+ packs to The Art House!
Brilliant local blogging community, Southampton Bloggers (@sotonbloggers) held a glorious brunch for its members on 3 June, and asked all attendees to bring along at least one item for The Homeless Period campaign. The result? Over forty packs of period products were left at The Art House Cafe in Southampton's Cultural Quarter! Thank you to everyone who donated!

2. Our volunteer, Rachel, has been busy emptying our donation boxes... and what did she find?
After spilling tampons all over her kitchen side like a true #PeriodHero, Rachel discovered that this month alone we have collected over 1,400 individual items for people in-need across the city. What a fantastic achievement, and thank you to all involved!

3. We're now donating to St James Care in Woolston.
After being contacted from a lovely owner of four enormous boxes of ultra towels, we heard that Society of St James' specialist residential care home for over 50s in Woolston were in a great need of sanitary products. The wonderful thing is that this centre is less than a mile away from our donation point at YMCA Woolston in Centenary Quay, making in an easy collection and redistribution route for any of our fantastic volunteers.

4. People are spreading the word!
As well as our four main public donation stations, we have collection boxes cropping up in the likes of Crestwood College in Eastleigh, a local Girlguiding group in Woolston, Southampton General Hospital, and hopefully a handful more local schools and supermarkets!

5. Keep your eyes peeled on jofisherwrites.com for my interview!
That's right! I was lucky enough to be interview by the lovely Jo Fisher, local writer and blogger, for her wonderful website! On it, I talk all about how The Homeless Period Southampton came to be, and what's next for our campaign.

Thank you for all your support!
